When Sin Circuit introduced ”Pay My Tuition” to INDIENOXZINE, Seth Walker described it as a high-energy EDM track with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a club-ready sound. It wasn't meant to be overly serious. The goal, he explained, was simple: create a song that encourages people to let go, dance and enjoy themselves.
Lyrically, “Pay My Tuition” never becomes overly literal. The title works almost like an inside joke, hinting at mistakes, consequences and the lessons that come with them without spelling everything out. That lightness fits the song's energy. Rather than turning personal experience into confession, Walker leaves enough space for listeners to interpret the story in their own way.
After listening, though, one detail stood out. The production had an unusually polished, almost synthetic quality, so we asked Walker directly about his creative process. His answer was clear. The songwriting, lyrics, concept and overall creative direction are entirely his own, while AI-assisted production tools helped transform those ideas into the finished recording. As Walker puts it: "For me, AI is a creative tool rather than a replacement for songwriting." He also produces everything from his home studio and makes the final decisions on the arrangement and overall sound.
Knowing that changes the way ”Pay My Tuition” is heard, not because the song suddenly becomes "about AI", but because it openly reflects a creative process that more independent artists are beginning to explore. The hooks are still immediate, the electronic production is still built for movement, and the playful tone never disappears. What changes is the context. AI has become one of the most debated topics in contemporary music, yet artists rarely explain exactly how they use it. Walker does. Rather than presenting the technology as a replacement for creativity, he describes it as another production tool that allows him to realize ideas independently from his own studio.
You don't have to agree with every creative decision behind "Pay My Tuition". But Sin Circuit isn't asking listeners to guess how the song was made. He explains it openly, then lets the music speak for itself. At a time when more artists are experimenting with new creative tools, that kind of honesty feels surprisingly refreshing.
