Astrachan is the solo project of Chicago-based artist Ben Astrachan. On October 31, he released his new album ”Signs”, blending upbeat, unrestrained Rock’n’Roll with classic handcrafted folk, echoing artists like Cat Stevens and Daniel Romano. Astrachan describes his sound as “diasporic rock,” rooted in indie rock and indie folk.
“Signs” was produced entirely analog in his basement studio and explores themes of revelation, conflict, and the balance between justice and peace. The album also includes the feel-good single “Some Kind of Love” - a guaranteed mood-booster that captures the warmth of a perfect summer day. Astrachan’s vocals lead the track, supported by a catchy guitar riff and uplifting drums, resulting in a clean, well-crafted production that invites movement and joy.
The album and single are ideal for listeners who enjoy heartfelt, story-driven songwriting, organic instrumentation, and a blend of nostalgic folk energy with modern indie spirit. Fans of reflective, lyrically rich music with a warm, analog feel will find "Signs" especially rewarding.
Make sure to check out the album and dive into Astrachan’s unique musical universe.
A European tour is planned for 2026 — stay tuned for more details.
